Prices are based on several factors including the amount of time it takes me to complete a sculpture and the “going rate” of comparable works in similar mediums.
Original OOAK (one-of-a-kind) Sculptures
OOAK sculptures are completely hand sculpted by me without any use of molds. I start by building an aluminum armature for the head and neck of a creature. The face and eyes come next, and the personality of the creature is revealed to me. I then build the armature for the body, over which I wrap several layers of air dry clay, allowing several days of drying time between layers. When the clay is completely cured, it receives a coat of acrylic primer before the painting process begins. The painting process typically includes a base coat, a wash, dry brushing, and detailing. The sculpture is then sealed with 3 coats of varnish before the final details (such as faux fur) are added. Each of my finished sculptures is signed by me.
An OOAK sculpture takes approximately 2-3 weeks to complete from start to finish.
Limited Edition Figurines
Limited Edition figurines are resin reproductions of my original sculptures. I start with an original sculpture model and create a silicone mold from that model. Liquid urethane plastic is poured into the mold and allowed to cure. Each figurine is individually examined for unwanted imperfections, and are touched up as necessary. Then each goes through the same painting and finishing process as my OOAK sculptures—prime, base coat, wash, dry brush, detailing, 2 coats of varnish, and final details. Each of my limited edition figurines are hand-numbered and signed by me.
Because all of my items are handmade, no two will be exactly alike. Please allow for slight variations between pieces.
At this time, I am taking a very limited number of commissions and collaborations. Please contact me if you would like more details on pricing and turnaround time.
